About Us
Byron McCollum, the founder of McCollum & Associates, started working beside his father building their personal house as a child. Early in high school, he worked in the construction industry digging ditches. There had to be something better.
Mr. McCollum, graduating salutatorian from high school, went on to graduate Cum Laude from the College of Architecture at the University of Houston. He served as an officer in numerous organizations and received multiple awards including Outstanding Young Professionals of America, Who's Who in the South & Southwest, Who's Who in America, and the International Who's Who of Contemporary Achievement. Mr. McCollum participates in civic and religious activities, and serves as a shepard at the Spring Creek Church of Christ.
Mr. McCollum, a native Texan, enjoys spending time at his ranch in Crystal Falls. The kids and grandkids love to go 4 wheeling, hunt, swim, fish in the Clear Fork of the Brazos, and spend quality time with the family. Here he also raises Black Angus cattle and exotic game. (Still trying to see how the ranchers make a living at this.)
